What You Can Expect From Psychic Readings

When you visit a psychic, whether you go to one in your neighbourhood or consult one of the online psychics, it is important that you have an accurate idea of what you are going to receive.

One thing you will not receive is guidance on what to do every day of your life from that point forward! You also will not be told the winning lottery numbers or the next winner of the Preakness. (If psychics could do that…there’d be a lot fewer disappointed people at the racetrack!)

When you approach your psychic, you will have questions perhaps on a variety of subjects.   Is your spouse faithful, will you ever find a spouse or someone to spend the rest of your life with, should you take a new job in a different city, and so on.

Psychics have ethics just like any other profession. They cannot specifically tell you what to do, they can only advise - the actual decisions are up to you.

Indeed, there’s a pretty interesting Frequently Asked Questions page for psychic Michelle Anderson, in which she explains some of the misconceptions people have on what psychics do. Gypsy Advice follows the same code of ethics that all reputable psychics do too.

No legitimate psychic will make a love potion or cast a curse spell for you - that’s not the business of a psychic, and such negative karma as that kind of attempt will create will only harm you in the long run! You need help in seeing your life clearly, not in manipulating others to give you what you want.

The more you know about what psychics should be able to deliver, the better. Therefore, read as many “FAQ’s” and code of ethics pages as you can, for those psychics who have a presence on the web. They will all say the same thing - if they are legitimate psychics.

They all say the same thing. A genuine psychic helps his or her client by offering advice, not by taking control of your life, by making you dependent upon them, by demanding money from you to perform tasks.

When looking for a psychic, it is important that you realize what they can, and cannot do.

Psychic Consultation - Email Or Live Readings?

You’ve decided you want to consult a psychic. Should you have a live reading, or should you consult one of the psychics who has an internet presence, and will email you your reading? There are pros and cons on both sides.

The most important question to be answered is not whether your reading should be done live or via email, but rather whether the psychic with whom you’re working is actually a legitimate one. If a true psychic is able to gather readings about you out of the ether, despite the fact that you’re hundreds or thousands of miles away, then it makes little difference, from the reading standpoint, whether it is delivered face-to-face or via email.

If you’re going to work with a psychic on a long-term basis, you first need to satisfy yourself that he, or she, is a legitimate one. This involves “testing” your psychic. If you give your psychic no information about you whatsoever, and she is able to tell you specific (not general, but specific) incidents in your life, then you’ve got a genuine psychic. Indeed, in some ways, having the anonymity of the internet is actually a blessing. When you visit a psychic for a face-to-face reading, the fraudulent ones are able to read your body language, and cull information from you in seemingly innocent conversation…whereas this can’t happen via the internet.

If you’re having a live reading, your psychic should allow you to record that reading, so you can re-play it as the days go by to ensure you get the most out of the information given. But that can be a pain. On the other hand, if your reading is sent to you via email, you have it there in black and white and can refer to all or a portion of it at any time you like, which is much more convenient.

Another advantage of an online reading is the anonymity of it… if you’re embarrassed to be seen going to a psychic, you need not fear “being seen” if you do it via the internet. (On the other hand, if you have to take your computer into a shop to be repaired, who knows what the snoopy repair people might not find in your email archives!)

Finding Authentic Psychics On The Net

If you’re going to visit a psychic, your first choice should be to visit one that you can see face to face - one living in your home town or the surrounding environs. If there are no such psychics, then is the time to try the internet. (Phone psychics would be the court of last resort - who knows how long the conversation could last and the cost will add up before you know it.)

As with any psychic, you want to make sure you are working with an authentic psychic, not a fraud. Yes, “authentic” might sound like a pejorative word in this context, but unfortunately frauds are out there in any business, and the psychic arena has its fair share.

So, how can you tell if your psychic is a genuine one? In many ways it’s a matter of common sense.

1. You should be able to have a free consultation with your psychic. Your psychic should know nothing about you - that’s how you’ll know if they are genuine, when they tell you stuff about your life that they couldn’t possibly know, because you have told them absolutely nothing about yourself – but you should know everything about your psychic. Where they are located, how long they have been doing their readings, and so on.

2. With the internet, it’s possible for people to sign on to a website and leave feedback on the service they received, whether good or bad. It’s certainly possible for psychics, therefore, and you want to read through this feedback and see what former and current clients are saying about your psychic. Be aware, however, that it’s easy to invent a screen name, sign on to a site and leave feedback… any “sock puppet” can do it. So when you read these reviews…pay attention to how they’re written. Are the same spelling or grammatical mistakes made in each review? That might indicate that the same person has written them all.

3. Everybody’s life is full of ups-and-downs. You want to know to know about those down-times, even when it’s not possible to prevent them. These are the types of things your psychic should be telling you, not simply Pollyanna stuff! On the other hand, if all you hear is doom and gloom news…perhaps its time to move to a new psychic, or even perhaps a therapist!

4. You have your own life to live. Don’t get caught, like William Shatner in the Twilight Zone episode “Nick of Time,” asking your psychic what you should do ever single day of your life. Have a reading, move forward with your life, and six months later, get anew reading to see where you stand. A psychic is a tool, not a crutch.
